[Kayley Stone]

"Good" Kayley said, grinning from ear-to-ear, "I think your friends will be fun" Kayley looked out on the lake smiling, not caring about what her friends will think or say. When asked about shopping her face lit up. "Oh my gosh! I love shopping! I really need more skirts and a few tops" Kayley said excited, "I'm one of the few Ravenclaws that enjoy shopping for clothing" she said grinning. All th other Ravenclaw girls liked shopping, sure, but Kayley absolutely loved shopping. She really loved spending money on herself; that was one of her major flaws.

"Nah, I feel like they'd believe it when they see it" Kayley said laughing slightly. She couldn't imagine the look of the girl's faces.

Pansy laughed, she had honestly never seen a Ravenclaw so excited about shopping, it was usually her own type of Slytherin who was most into it. The Slytherin girls were usually spoilt and self obessed. However Pansy could tell that Kayley wasnt a brat, she just enjoyed it. "You will enjoy it with us I promise we can make it really fun" she said with a friendly smile. It was true, they had had so much practice they knew where to get a good bargin and where the shop assistents were cute and would give the girls discounts, they just had to act right and it would be a breeze. "I will teach you some skills" Pansy said with a wink and a giggle.

"You know I cant wiat to see the looks on their faces" Pansy laughed nodding.

"Well I'll hold you too that" Kayley said smirking. She looked at her bag to see if there was any homework she could do, but she was already ahead of everything. She sighed and thought about shopping with Slytherins. It might be more fun than to shop with the Ravenclaws, it probably will be.

"Yeah, same here. I mean, I like them.. it's just kind of old hanging out with the same old people I guess" Kayley said smiling

Pansy laughed "Promise" she said grinning. Pansy might be no Ravenclaw but she knew everything when it came to womanly tricks, her mother was a good teacher. Those stuffy dinner parties of her mothers did do her some good when after the meal the men would go off and disscuss death eater things and the women would disscuss their womanly secrets. Pansy didnt really know anything about Kayleys family but she thought she was probably from a nice and loving family; parents who braught up their child instead of hiring help and having houselves. Even though Pansy had everything she wanted she just wanted love. Maybe thats why she tried to hang onto Draco so much.

Pansy watched her new friend hunt through her bag of papers and books, was she looking for homework? "Hey are you ahead on all your work already? in return maybe you could help me with that" she said laugh a little, but it was true, she needed all the help she could get really.

Kayley grinned as Pansy said 'promise'. Kayley imagained Pansy being at dinner parties and being nice to people she didn't care about, she imagained Pansy crying in her room because the lack of love by her parents, she imagined Pansy just wanting to care about her. None of this may be true, but Kayley could tell that Pansy might have came from a non-loving family. It wasn't an insult, it was just a fact. She smiled and thought of her own life; mother and father who tried their best to be good parents. Kayley was tought to read books, study hard, and get a good job so she'll have money of her own. She loved her parents, but there was a lot of pressure that she didn't like. She was told to marry a man with money and intelligance, it wasn't about the love with them.

Kayley blushed slightly, she was proud of herself being ahead, but she didn't exactly boast about it. "Er.. yeah I am. If you need help I'll be more than willing to tutor you.. but I can't let you copy" Kayley rememberd in her second year when a Slytherin would always copy her homework and tests during class without her realizing it. She was so upset, not that they stole her work, she was upset that they didn't learn anything.

Pansy pulled herself out of thoughts of her family and how all she had as memories was being told by her parents they would be home soon and they never were. She remembered a birthday as a child where her father had promised to take her out but when she woke up he was gone and so was her mother and she was left alone with the Nanny. She was expected to marry some pure blood and rich wizard just because. Pansy did also wonder about Kayleys family, maybe they were Ravenclaws too with pressure on her to work really hard. Maybe when the two girls got closer they would talk about their families.

Pansy nodded "Not coppy, but I really need a tutor" She laughed, she wasnt really very bright and she would never pass her exams just coppying, she had learnt that over the past 5 and a bit years. She had even paid a little Ravenclaw kid to do her homework for a whole term once and that hadn't worked out since she only just passed her exams at the end of the year.

"Okay, good" Kayley said happily. She figured Pansy wouldn't copy, but she couldn't be sure. They just met. "So what do you need help with?" Kayley asked. She thought of spots at the library where they could meet up and study, Madame Pince was always pleasant to her because Kayley helped her out when she was very busy. Kayley loved the library, her parents often joked about her becoming a librarian for Hogwarts when she grew up.

"I need to at least pass school or my parents wont be happy" Pansy said trying to shrug it off but it did bother her that she wasnt very cleaver and she was a little insecure but she didnt thing Kayley would be type to laugh at her for it like other Ravenclaws would behind her back. Pansy laughed a little bit "Everything really, mostly complicated subjects like transfiguration and that sort of thing". It was true that she was just below average in just about everything except the dark arts and defence. Not many Slytherins or Death Eater familys bothered with defence but she had learned it watching her father duel. Unfortunatly for Pansy -or fortunatly depending onhow you look at it- her father brought his victiams back to their home alot.

"Could we use the libary do you think? somewhere discreate?" Pansy asked, she didnt really want to be seen studying by her friends.

"Well, don't worry. When I'm through with you, your teachers will think you used one of those cheating quills because you will pass with flying colors" Kayley promised. She was a pretty good teacher, she could probably get Crabb and Goyle to get good marks on their tests. But to have to learn, you need to be willing to put forth effort, or else you won't be able to succeed. "Well, Transfigurations is actually a very tuff subjects, hopefully I'd be able to be an Animagus when I grow up, I think it would be fun to do.. I don't know what animal I'd pick, though. Not an owl.. people would try to attach letters onto me. Sorry, I'm rambeling" Kayley said laughing at herself.

"Yeah, deffinately, barely nobodys at the Library.. except Hermione Granger" Kayley said smiling.

"Hey I don't want them to think I cheated cause then they'll fail me" Pansy laughed, she doubted she would ace everything but she thought Kayley would be able to tutor her so she would pass pretty well and the thought of that made Pansy happy. "It is tuff I'll tell you that for sure. Wow an animagus thats got to be hard, isn't professor mcgonagall one of them?" Pansy said surprised, she had heard not many wizards made it to be an animagus, it was deffinatly out of her reach. "No no I like rambling" Pansy laughed and smiled.

"Then its perfect I doubt the mudblood would say anything" Pansy stoped "Sorry I didnt think sorry" Pansy shook her head, she was so used to being around all those Slytherins where that was the type of language she was supposed to use.

"If they fail you I'll just tell them what really happened.. though they might think I'm under a spell or something" Kayley admited. Nobody would ever believe that a Slytherin was friends with a Ravenclaw, unless they're both veil. But it's very rare that they are friends truly based on the fact that they like each other. "Yeah, it will be hard, but I like a challange. I mean, I was always good at Transfiguration, but it's just hard" Kayley shrugged.

Kayley gasped slightly but played it off like it was a little cough. "It's fine, I'm half-blood so it doesn't really defy me I guess" Kayley said

"I bet they'll say I put you under the imperious curse, knowing my luck" Pansy said with a laugh . But it was true no one would believe a Slytherin and Ravenclaw were friends and studying together. "IT will be a challenge I can tell you that for free" Pansy laughed happily, glad she had someone to help her out. Kayley was deffinatly the cleaverest person Pansy had met who wasn't big headed about it.

"No I'm sorry I shouldnt say that word, I guess I just used to being around Slytherins who expect it and would be weirded out if I didn't" Pansy said thoughtfully, that wasn't a good reason really but it was true.

"Nah, thats really serious, I mean, they probably wouldn't believe that for a moment. They might.. but they would never say it out loud" Kayley said grinning slightly. She thought Pansy was quite funny. "Well, as long as I can stay ahead of my work and have Quidditch pracitce, we're good. I bet when Ravenclaw goes against Slytherin the week before the big game you'll need lots of help so I can stay out of practice" Kayley said with a wink. She rememberd how some of her team hates everyone in Slytherin because they beat them in Quidditch. Kayley always thought this was stupid; why hate the whole house when only seven people played?

"I understand" Kayley said smiling, "Really, I do. But I'm half so I guess it would only offend my parents" She shrugged but smiled at Pansy.

"You never know these days" Pansy laughed, even if the teacher didnt say anything student would, especially those in her house, and others would have something bad to say. She joked but she was a little serious still. Pansy laughed "Dont worry I'm sure the amount of time it will take me to write an essay you'll have plenty of time for your own work aswell as quidditch practices and games" she added "ooh yeah we'll be super busy at game time" Pansy joked, quidditch games were very very competitave at the school and fights have broken out in the weeks leading up to games she remembered fondly the days when she would cause gossip and rumers to increase tentions. Pansy half missed being the school biggest drama queen, and she deffinaatly could still do it if she put her mind to it, but these days it just wasnt high on her agender.

Pansy gave Kayley a friendly smile, glad she didnt appear to think less of her.

"Oh darn" Kayley said grinning, "Well I might have to teach you the wrong thing then, I'm kidding" Kayley laughed lightly and thought about the Quidditch games, she loved Quidditch. Her boy was nearly perfect for being a keeper because she was so quick. She looked at the giant squid that came out of the water and seemed to be eating something that first years were throwing at it. She laughed slightly and watched it go back under the water.
