After the economic crisis hitting the globe, tensions between the nations of the world reached an all-time high. World War III broke out when most of the world's nuclear technology was stolen. No one knew what had happened to the missing bombs. Officials in the United States decided that they would use an older model that was less predictable. One missile went astray, disappearing, instead, into the Aegean Sea and knocking something loose. Several of the islands in the Aegean were flooded under the waves assumed to be created by the missile's drop, but when the mist cleared, a new island had risen above the crest of the sea. Atlantis. Now, in the midst of the tragedies brought around by the flooding, by the continued war efforts in countries all around the world, they have to adapt to learning that the natives of Atlantis aren't quite human. They're everything that humans were taught were only fantasy, the last of their kind vanishing from the surface centuries before. Now the fairy-tales are free from the prison that had kept them from perishing with their kin, the prison set there by the gods they had angered. No one knows what this will mean for the world.
