School; a place for the furthering of education, only made better by the fact that it was in a castle. A huge castle that had lofty towers and what seemed like hundreds of high out of reach places, places where Mathew’s drawing book, wand, music sheets or school books somehow ended up upon the top. It was a game his classmates liked to play; hide the kid with homosexuality’s stuff at inconvenient times. After spending almost the entire night scaling statues, book shelves, window ledges and the Astronomy Tower, Mathew had wandered down to breakfast in an exhausted stupor and no idea how he was going to face a day of lessons with about an hour sleep.
Just walking down the staircase, Defence Against the Dark Arts book in hand, the boy felt like he was going to pass out. He needed sleep, desperately, hopefully some food would perk him up enough to face first lesson but then again it was Potions so there was officially no hope for him. Mathew’s bleary eyed stare amazingly found his table and instantly he made a beeline for it. He greeted a kid next to him with a barely audible grunt as he unceremoniously sat himself down next to him on the bench. Somewhere in amongst gather some eggs and cereal the boy leant his head against the table and fell asleep. Ah sweet relief from exhaustion.
Unfortunately his peace didn’t last quite as long as he would have liked. In amongst a weird dream about an owl with a vendetta against him the unmistakeable chatter of a girl and what sounded like a Professor’s voice could be heard. Outwardly Mathew groaned and muttered something along the lines of ‘five more minutes’ or ‘shut the Hell up’, either one. Thankfully he was able to start to drift off again until some loud kid arrived on the scene. There would be no peace at all now.
As the girls chattered nothing but gossip the boy tried in vain to ignore them by keeping his eyes firmly shut. It was only when the talk turned to the upcoming Quidditch match did he decide to wake up. He snorted sceptically at some Ravenclaw kid’s claim Ravenclaw would be kicking buts that Saturday. ”Your chasers couldn’t find the quaffle even if it was ten feet tall and painted fluoro pink,” Matthew smirked with a yawn, ”remember last match? Serious second hand embarrassment for the kid, I mean the quaffle was right next to him being passed to him and he was too busy chatting to some blonde bimbo Hufflepuff.” The boy grinned mischievously at the Ravenclaw, wondering if working her up would be worth it or not. Getting a debate about Quidditch going would be fun even if he didn't play or fly it all, but maybe another time when he wasn’t ridiculously tired.

The redheaded Gryffindor girl tossed and turned in her sleep. It was a deep sleep due to being up till and unearthly hour tring to finish some deathly hard transfiguration homework. Usuallly Hermione would help her out but latly she had once again taken up the its better to do it yourself mantra again. Ginny knew if would wear off soon but in the mean time she had to struggle through. Ginny herself was quite smart, but no where near as smart as Hermione and it was easier to ask for help, especially with the Quiddich season starting up just last week. Ginny loved Quiddich, it was her favorite thing, ever since she started to steel her brothers brooms from the shead one by one since age seven, it just proved really when she made the house team. The sport was deffinatly her priority so it had been weeks since Ginnys last full nights sleep and her school work was starting to suffer. So lastnight she told herself she would get it all done, and she had, though it had taken her into the early hours of the morning.
Ginny, Ginny, wake up! breakfast! One of her fellow Gryffindor dorm mates hissed as the rest of the girls were about to leave the dorm. Ginny groaned, she felt like she had only just drifed off, even though she had gained thee hours sleep. The other girl slammed the door and Ginny shouted "Okay, okay, I'm up!". The readhead sighed and rolled out of bed. She wandered around the room picking up various parts of her uniform and getting dressed quickly after noticing the time and relising she had just enough time for breakfast if she hurried. Ginny was half way out of the door when she relised that she didn't have her textbooks or homework she had spent so long on the previous night. Ginny hunted her night stand and found what she needed for her first lesson and hurried out the door.
Ginny Weasley walked the corridors of Hogwarts towards the Great Hall; her favorite room in the castle. She loved the high cealings and how it seemed invisable as it reflected the weather outside. Today was a bright blue sky with the odd cloud floating along, it may seem sunny but Ginny knew that it would be starting to get cool soon since the school year was well and truely started. The Gryffindor didn't even bother looking for her friends, all she wanted was some food to perk her up and prayed the day would pass quickly so she could get in a nap before quiddich practice. Ginny walked absent mindedly towards the Gryffindor table and sat herself down beside a boy from her own house whome she didnt know, only by sight. She reached over for a jug, not caring what was inside, all she cared about was having a drink.
Ginny rubbed her eyes and zoned into what the Ravenclaw had said about quiddich, and leaded over the the Gryffindor boy "The team has a trick up our sleaves for the next match" she said nodding knowningly, since she was of course one of the chasers on the team. Hope you dont mind if I jump in

Matthew swore, if he EVER found out who took his stuff, he would kill them. It wasn't like he didn't have his suspicions, but you couldd never always be sure. Matthew laid his head in his hand, propping his arm on the table, closing his eyes. "Oh, like your bloody chaser could do any-" The Ravenclaw girl's vioce faded in mid sentance and Matthew furrowed his eyebrows. Was the girl really that unsure of her team? That was pretty sad. "You know, if your that unsure of your team, don't get into some debate about whos gonna win." he pointed out, rolling a knife around in one of his hands. Without out any success the boy tried to stifle an enormous yawn. God he was so tired, and though he was in the mood to, arguing with the Ravenclaw was going to take all the energy he needed to get through first and second period.
His eyes snapped back open with suprise and his head fell off his hand, almost hitting the table, as he felt someone lean toward him from the side. In response Matthew glared, with a pout -though it looked kind of wierd with his lip peircings-, at her. ”Some kind of warning would have been nice,” he joked, smiling at the other Gryffindor with minimum effort then settling his head in his hand again. He hoped she didn't take it the wrong way, but hell, a warning really WOULD have been nice, or at least a simple 'Excuse me'. As he listened to the rest of the tables giggles and laugh at his suprise, he stuck his tongue out at them, though he knew it was a bit childish, he did it anyway. "Shut up." He grumbled. He had enough time being laughed at by other students, he didn't need it then.
"Aww, come on Matt, your not seriously turning into more of a girl!" He heard his sister, Madison exclaim from the Ravenclaw table. "I thought I said shut up? Does no one get the meaning of that?" He asked the girl that surprised him, doing his best to make it seem to his sister that he didn't hear her.
Don't mind at all!

Ginny Weasley watched the Ravenclaw girl debating the match and their chasers ability and Ginny sniggered to herself, the girl really had no idea, she was talking about points of the game that she clearly had no understanding of, and the boy she was talking to was eather not interested or had given up in trying to correct the girl. However the boy was soon reasting his head in his hands. So maybe he was just suffering sleep deprivation. Which was quite common in older students who had a homework overload.
When the readhead leaned over past the boy and spoke she surpressed a laugh when he clearly got a shock so much that his hand sliped and he woke up from what appeared to be a doze. However Ginny wasn't a nasty person and didn't relize he was so asleep "I'm sorry I guess I should have warned you" she said smiling brightly at the boy. She then shot a glare at the people aroud them who were laughing and giggling. She soon recognized the boy as they one who was bullied by their housemates, she had heard the rumers of him being gay and that people hid his stuff like they did to Luna just because she was different. But Ginny didnt was him to suffer more because of her causing his reaction which the rest of the table had found so amusing. She smiled at the boy again "Ginny Weasley" she said holding out her hand and introducing herself "Are you okay?" she questioned.
Ginny looked up again and over to the Ravenclaw table when a girl shouted over about Matt becoming more of a girl. Ginny wondered who she was, she seemed very familier with the boy, maybe they were related. But Ginny didn't think this was the right time to ask that sort of thing since the girl had clearly just hurt him since he appeared to eather not hear or be pretending not to avoid facing her. "You deffinatly said shut up" Ginny asured him "But you'll deffinatly be hard pushed to find anyone who understands that round here" she shurgged thinking of how loud her brothers are.
