IC Full Name: * Caitlyn * Rose * Sayer * Nicknames: Cait (pronounced Kate), Lyn, Caitie Birth date: 23/7/1976 Age: 17 when she died, would be 30. Sex: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Relationship status: Single Special ability and/or breed: Ghost Blood: Halfblood Year: None. Died in her seventh year, has haunted the castle ever since. House: Hufflepuff Wand: Vine with core of Dragon’s Heartstring – was useful for defensive spells in its use. Is now discarded with the rest of her belongings. Loyalty: Neutral.
Eye colour: Hazel/green – now grey Hair colour: Honey Blonde, now transuculent. Height: 5'3 Body build: slender & petite Tattoos or piercing: None. Distinguishing features: Nothing really. Overall:
Personality: Social Status: When Cait was in school she wasn’t exactly Little Miss Popular. Her half-blood status kept her Muggle interests at bay, not wanting to have a game of Quidditch but much rather adorning a skateboard to get around. She had her friends and kept herself to her group – apart fro m that however people barely knew she existed, until she died. Now everybody knows who she is, and what she wants – a little sweet revenge on the Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Positive Traits: Forward planning – Cait always planned what she was going to do with every detail before she’d do it. She finds it comes in useful when wanting to annoy Idris now she has a lot of free time. Literate – Cait always left herself enough time to read before going to bed. Sure her other interests took up a lot of her time, but writing and reading were always enforced on her by her father as important skills to accumulate. Empathetic – Despite her childish exterior, Cait hasn’t spent the last thirteen years watching people for no reason. Wise beyond her ‘years’ – People often mistake her for still having the same mind-set as her seventeen year old physical self. In actual truth her mind aged as her body would have, truly being thirty at heart. Still doesn’t stop her when it comes to annoying the hell out of Idris. Negative Traits: Emotionally Unstable – She’s seeking revenge over unfinished business with Idris. Some would say she’s a ‘lover scorned’ others would merely call her a psycho. Either way, she’s never been very good with letting people how she feels and neither is she very stable when it comes to how she controls her emotions. Socially inept – Cait was never very good at making friends. She liked to be alone as a child and living is such a far out village she never had much social interaction – just the way she liked it. Not good with change – One thing Cait didn’t want to happen when she was younger was move away from home. She hadn’t coped with her living arrangement change then, she sure as hell didn’t cope all that well when she died. She’d give anything to go back to being alive, despite how impossible that may be. Thirteen years down the line and she still can’t cope with the fact that she’s no longer mortal. Overly Sensitive – She’s no Murtle, but Cait certainly doesn’t like it when people point out to her that she’s dead. She gets easily depressed by that fact and would much rather be aging and living than staying seventeen and dying forever. Interests: Haunting Idris Skating (when she was alive) Being angry at the world Going to Muggle concerts Festivals Walking through walls Appearing randomly to annoy people Moving peoples objects when they are around Likes: Idris: Her boyfriend from life. She loves to wind him up, spending the majority of her time doing that than anything else these days. Pop/punk Muggle music: happy and upbeat and able to put her in a good mood whatever she was previously feeling and she likes that. Plus it was always good to skate to when she was at home. Loose clothing: Nothing better than feeling comfortable in your own skin, and constantly doing sport calls for clothing that breathes and moves accordingly. Easter: It’s not Christmas. (See next like) Chocolate: Preferably the stuff that doesn’t move when you try and eat it. Chocolate is the one thing Cait could always draw a parallel with within the two worlds she belonged in. Being born to a Muggle father: She got the best of both worlds as she grew up, seeing magic handled on a day to day basis, but was never subjected to the prejudices that come from being in a pure-blood family. She loves being able to do what normal Muggles do, and it proves a good escape when the magic world gets to much, or at least it did. Skating: With a constant need to be active as a kid, having her own park in the family lands allowed her to be active and creative with her sport of choice. She loved the danger of falling that it brought and the adrenaline that came with plummeting towards the ramps at high speeds. Dislikes: Idris: the idiot never admitted he loved her. Despite their time together and their overcoming of social norms at a school like Hogwarts. Slytherins and Hufflepuffs just didn’t mix. Poltergeists: always stealing her ghostly thunder in her eyes. Nothing she can do is ever as funny or clever as anything Peeves does. Christmas: When your death-day resides on the holiday, it’s a little hard to enjoy when all you associate with it is death. Swimming: When you drowned, its hard to enjoy the water. Peanut butter: horribly buttery but crunchy at the same time? It’s unnatural!
Mother: Maggie Sayer nee Jean, deceased; died of heart attack, former writer for the daily prophet Father: Travis Sayer, deceased, former farmer Siblings: None. Other relatives: name age job at least if any important Overall history: Cait grew up in the West-Country. Surrounded by farms, animals, and the Muggle-Famous Glastonbury Festival. Living within a close vicinity her family got free tickets to the shows every year, her father insisting that a good musical upbringing was key to his daughter’s life. Witch or not. Growing up in Wellington boots, horse-riding and generally having an outside time of it, she got herself into skating when she was nine years old. Living too far from the nearest town to make it to the local skate park her father hand-built her a course in our of the families fields.
At the age of eleven, Cait received her Hogwarts acceptance letter. Her mother couldn’t have been more proud, her father had his reservations but knew that it meant a lot to his wife, and supported his daughter through it. Cait on the other hand didn’t want to leave her family. She liked living in the middle of no-where with not many people and her own land around her. Going to Hogwarts would mean no more horse-riding e very day, no more messing about in her own skate park.
Upon entering Hogwarts, Cait hated her first year more than anything. She didn’t fit in and found it hard to make friends, not having made many back home in the first place. She found it impossible to be herself, she didn’t belong in the wizarding world in her own eyes, but it was where she had been thrown.
As time went by she found herself some friends. Mainly the girls she shared a dorm with, but there were others she shared interests with too. And others she clicked with in entirely different ways. Like one Idris Argall.
When Idris and Cait first became friends nobody cared. Nobody even noticed. So it came to shock to everybody’s systems when they appeared to be together. Idris was quite, kept himself to himself and got along with animals more so than people. More to the shock was he was a Slytherin, and Cait, was not. Inter-house relationships worked if you were in Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw and with another student from one of the other three. But Slytherins stuck with Slytherins like some sort of unwritten rule.
Skipping forwards slightly, and Cait found herself having to stay at Hogwarts for the duration of the Christmas holidays. Not once had she stayed at the school for any of the previous holidays, always preferring to go back to Somerset than stay. That holidays was to be her last. On taking a bath in the prefect’s bathroom, she slipped on the wet tiles surrounding the cavernous hole in the floor. Unconscious and unable to swim, Cait drowned.
Now she’s destined to haunt the castle as a hoodie/pajama clad ghost for the rest of her afterlife. Unfinished business with Idris saw to that.
